Glasshouse Images‘ Stock contributor Saul Robbins was one of the eleven artists included in Baltimore’s MICA group exhibition. The group show titled “Under Cover” was held by the Exhibition Development Seminar class from January 27th to March 11th. Exploring the changing identity of privacy and what that entails. The group of students heightened the consciousness of the destruction of a barrier between public and private spaces. Leaving the viewer with thoughts that possibly the only private space we have left is the privacy of our deepest thoughts.

In Saul Robbins series “Initial Intake” he investigates the office surroundings of Manhattan-based psychotherapy professionals. From the vantage point of their clients, Saul Robbins guides us on focusing on the leather arm chairs, the environments in which they are placed and the vulnerabilities one exposes to a stranger in these surroundings. Saul Robbins states in his artist statement “I wish to reference the perceptions, associations and responses to this very private environment and the work that takes place here.” Check out more of Saul Robbins’ eye catching work and the press releases by CBS Baltimore and City Paper, Baltimore.

We couldn’t be more pleased to announce Ryan Pfluger‘s inclusion in the PDN 30 this year! After a whirlwind year of hard work and gorgeous results, Ryan has been honored with this fantastic accolade. From his intimate portraits to his beautiful fashion work, Ryan continues to grow and push boundaries shoot after shoot. We hope that you take a minute to view some of his recent work that we are thrilled to share!

Over the course of 2011, Ryan planned, orchestrated and shot thousands of images as part of his personal project “Portraits in the Park“. The images show uninhibited New York residents removed from location, fashion, and outside stimuli to reflect the personality and character within.

In his own words:
“My personal work has always dealt with extremely intimate portraiture and I wanted to do a body of work that would challenge my comfortability. In Portraits in the Park I’m exploring the role of
place and portraiture within photography. I photographed over 250 people in public parks throughout the city over the course of the summer of 2011. Each portrait is a reflection of a fleeting moment.”

Ryan Pfluger had a great time shooting the 136th Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show recently for Nowness.

From Nowness:
Photographer Ryan Pfluger captures some of the most notable faces, canine and otherwise, in this series of portraits from the 136th Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show in New York. Earlier this week some 2,077 pooches representing 185 different breeds descended on Madison Square Garden, all with the hope of taking home the title of “Best in Show.” The honor went to Malachy, a four-year-old Pekingese, who is now retiring from the show circuit to become a full-time house pet. “There’s an enormous communication barrier when shooting animals,” says Pfluger, whose portraiture work has appeared in The New York Times Magazine, GQ, TIME, and The Guardian. “You can’t give them direction, but you can get beautiful, interesting shots just by letting them exist.” First held in 1877, Westminster is one of the oldest and most prestigious organized sporting events in America, with the dogs judged against strict ideal-breed guidelines that outline everything from color and texture of the coat to length between snout and tail. “These dogs are being primped and groomed and trained to the nines; the sense of competition in the air is fierce,” says Pfluger. “But the funny thing is, when it comes down to it they really just want to hang out and chill.”

Glasshouse Assignment photographer Adam Taylor has collaborated with Clemenger BBDO to create Fisher & Paykel’s new campaign. The Art Director was Katrina Jarrett and the Writer was Nikola Spadina. The campaign is all about friends sharing a wonderful dinner together and celebrating each others company.

Adam Taylor brought his amazing vision, technical prowess and gorgeous lighting to the campaign, creating two beautiful images for the luxury home and kitchen appliance company. Adam used the Canon 24mm tse II to eliminate the distortion from the high camera angle in “Desire” and a little for “Joy” as well.

In Adam’s words: “I directed the talent through the space using slow shutter speeds to capture their “ghostings” as they acted out various scenarios. It was like being a painter and making brushstrokes or “ghostings” with the talent’s movements and expressions through the kitchen and dining space.”

Trevor’s lighting and gorgeous aesthetic lent such a mood and intensity to this shoot – we couldn’t have asked for more! Check out some of the images from the catalog below:

Thanks to Leslie and Heather at VF for the fantastic art direction and Bryan, production manager, for making sure things run smoothly and making the whole shoot perfectly come together as always! All together the shoot was fantastic.
