Exciting News from Aline Smithson!

Glasshouse Images‘ stock contributor Aline Smithson has a handful of exciting exhibitions, workshops and awards taking place in the next few months. Being selected by the Griffin Museum of Photography, Aline will receive the Rising Star Award at the Focus Awards. Not only is Aline Smithson one of the Keynote speakers at the Flash Forward Festival, she is exhibiting a solo show of Arrangement in Green and Black, Photographs of the Photographer’s Mother on June 8th. On June 2nd at the Santa Barbara Museum of Art opens the Portrayal/Betrayal exhibition where Aline Smithson’s photograph Fur will be included.

On April 12th at the Panopticon Gallery in Boston, she has 8 photographs included in the group exhibition titled Child’s Play. If your around the area have a chance to take part of one of the workshops Aline is teaching at Santa Fe Photo Workshops, Julia Dean Photo Workshops, Filter Photo Festival or Photo Nola.

Jason Langer Exhibits at Wessell + O’Connor Gallery

Glasshouse Images‘ stock contributor Jason Langer is exhibiting a body of work entitled “Male Figure Studies 2002 – 2012″ at Wessel + O’Connor Gallery in Lambertville, New Jersey. The exhibition takes place March 31 – May 27, 2012. His images promote the viewer to notice the mood and feelings from the constructed shapes and gestures created by the figures. These abstracted figures in simplified open spaces compel the audience for their own interpretation. Check out more photographs from this series and the rest of Jason Langer’s bodies of works.

Trevor Dixon Shoots QVC Spring 12 Campaign

Trevor Dixon has collaborated with QVC on another gorgeous campaign for their Spring 2012 line. Shot in a beautiful daylight studio on two of the coldest days of January, these images make us feel anything but chilly! Fantastic art direction from Darcy Soper and gorgeous styling from Martha Bernabe.

Saul Robbins Included in Group Exhibition at MICA in Baltimore

Glasshouse Images‘ Stock contributor Saul Robbins was one of the eleven artists included in Baltimore’s MICA group exhibition. The group show titled “Under Cover” was held by the Exhibition Development Seminar class from January 27th to March 11th. Exploring the changing identity of privacy and what that entails. The group of students heightened the consciousness of the destruction of a barrier between public and private spaces. Leaving the viewer with thoughts that possibly the only private space we have left is the privacy of our deepest thoughts.

In Saul Robbins series “Initial Intake” he investigates the office surroundings of Manhattan-based psychotherapy professionals. From the vantage point of their clients, Saul Robbins guides us on focusing on the leather arm chairs, the environments in which they are placed and the vulnerabilities one exposes to a stranger in these surroundings. Saul Robbins states in his artist statement “I wish to reference the perceptions, associations and responses to this very private environment and the work that takes place here.” Check out more of Saul Robbins’ eye catching work and the press releases by CBS Baltimore and City Paper, Baltimore.
