Evan Kafka Shoots Michael Stipe for American Way Magazine

Check out the great story and awesome images from Evan Kafka’s recent American Way shoot with REM frontman, Michael Stipe. Evan had previously shot Stipe in 2004 for New York Magazine, an experience which originally connected photographer and musician and allowed for a comfortable, personal shoot the second time around. The article mentions some poignant moments on set between Stipe, Kafka, and Evan’s 1st Assistant Josh Freiwald. Here are some of the images that ran and some of Evan’s favorite outtakes:
