Evan Kafka shot the cover and feature of the October 2011 issue of The Atlantic. He photographed a model, William Coleman, in studio to illustrate Taylor Branch‘s story about how the NCAA may be taking advantage of athletes. It is a powerful story with Evan’s signature emotional, expressive and rich imagery illustrating the controversial narrative. Hair, makeup, dirt and sweat by the fantastic Nikki Wang.
