Ryan Pfluger was commissioned by TIME Magazine to take portraits of Playwright Amy Herzog. The 34-year-old playwright has written four off-Broadway successes in the past two years, and recently opened her play, Belleville, at the New York Theatre Workshop. Writer Richard Zoglin writes in his TIME article, “Her plays are delicate things, with rich characters and subtly unfolding narratives.” Bellville is about a young American couple who move to Paris, and centers on themes of “trust, truth, deception and dependency.” Ryan had the opportunity to photograph Amy at the 4th St Theatre, where Belleville will be showing through April 14th, 2013.
