Photographing bite-sized ice cream isn’t easy. Studios can’t keep the temperatures like a freezer — so it melts pretty quickly and creates a messy shoot.
Sometimes food stylists will try to freeze the ice cream further using dry ice. Unfortunately that can elicit a freezer-burn look, which isn’t very appetizing.
So Kang Kim and his stylist scrapped that idea and worked quickly to make the tiny ice cream sandwich have a balance of slightly messy but not too unappetizing. I can hear my stomach grumbling in excitement.
