“The Cat with the Longest Fur.”
Yes, that title does exist. To compete for the Guinness World Record title, three independent veterinarians measured 10 strands of cat fur to determine an average length, then submitted to Guinness for reviewal. Colonel Meow, a two-year-old Himalayan-Persian cross-breed, had an average of 9 inches per hair. That’s some thick fur!
Ryan Schude was commissioned by Guinness World Records to photograph Colonel Meow in his West Hollywood home for their 2014 Edition, which hits shelves Sept. 14.
