Kang Kim’s Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday. I’ve always loved the fact that it emphasizes quality time with family, being grateful for blessings in life, and naturally, stuffing myself into a food-induced coma.

But not everyone knows this uniquely American experience. Kang Kim is originally from South Korea, so when AARP asked him to photograph a turkey, stuffing and other Thanksgiving foods for their October/November issue, Kang faced a new challenge. But that didn’t deter him; Kang made a point to explore this tradition deeper and pay respect to the spirit of Thanksgiving.

I think he succeeded, Kang got my stomach grumbling. Now I’m even more excited for Thanksgiving dinner.

How do you like to celebrate the holiday? Any favorite dishes?
