Glasshouse photographer Anne Geddes speaks to 500 members of the the Tuckahoe Women’s Club and receives a standing ovation.
“It’s great to be here in Richmond, Virginia today to prepare for a speech I’m giving to 500 members of the Tuckahoe Women’s Club tomorrow … about the importance of dreaming. This beautiful grand staircase at The Jefferson Hotel (where we’re staying) is rumored to be the model for the famed staircase in “Gone With the Wind” … ‘Frankly my dear … I don’t give a damn’ … I loved saying that” – Anne Geddes
Founded in 1936, The Tuckahoe Woman’s Club provides diverse, educational, challenging, and entertaining programs and activities, for its membership. These programs, coupled with various activities, account for The Club’s continued popularity with its members. Since its founding, The Club’s involvement in the community continues to be a highlight for the membership whether it’s through support of local charities and organizations, its Annual Art Exhibition, or awarding scholarships to local high school students from the Scholarship Endowment Fund.
