Evan Kafka recently shot Electrical and Biomedical Engineer Nina Tandon for WIRED UK‘s January 2013 Issue. Tandon, who works at Columbia University‘s Laboratory for Stem Cells and Tissue Engineering, is widely known in the media for her work growing artificial hearts and bones. She was interviewed by Katie Couric earlier this month, is a Senior TED Fellow, and was awarded a 2012 “Women on Top” Award by Marie Claire. Eventually, Tandon and her colleagues hope to be able to “accelerate the ability to grow organs for transplants.” We love that Evan had the opportunity to photograph such beautiful portraits of an inspiring and hardworking professional!
